jeroens commemorating his roots by re-releasing a selection of search records from days gone by. each has been remastered in such a way that it retains its authentic and timeless energy. pressed onto fresh vinyl, this limited series contains some of the finest search tracks ever to be put out, handpicked by jeroen himself. in light of that it might be easily forgotten that jeroen search has been creating techno since the early nineties. and that he ran one of the most influential labels around back then: >search<. between 1996 and 2001 it was home to a host of releases, many from jeroen himself. released on vinyl and without any reprints, they ve since hidden in the record collections of a select few.

caul is the new album from last harbour. based in the northern english city of manchester, last harbour play music with a dark, gothic heart yet their songs are always beautiful and transcendent. after working with producer richard formby (wild beasts, spacemen 3, ghostpoet) on two previous albums, the band took time out after touring to build their own studio in 2013. this new album was recorded in that self-created space over a year between 2013-4 and bears testament to a patient and detailed recording process that allowed time for experimentation and careful arrangement.

another classic from the west end archives! forrrces keep on dancin from 1982 was a huge record across the board from bronx block parties to the paradise garage in nyc and dj harveys moist nights in london town, its popularity was bolstered by a fierce francois k dub mix on the b-side that stripped the record right back to it s most basic elements with a healthy dose of reverb assisted psychedelia thrown in for good measure! this killer cowbell led boogie jam has always been a big hit with disco freaks and continues to sound fresh some 30+ years later even making its way into veteran uk dj and music historian sean ps 100 boogie essentials 1980-1984 list. high praise indeed!re-mastered from original tape transfers, re-pressed and made available again for 2015 in conjunction with west end records, new york city.

roadside edits are back, their first 12inch was a very limited pressing, and it sold out faster than moonshine back in the prohibition days, so they have repressed it, and for good measure they have added their foot stomping edit moonshine on the a side, its a liquid disco funk hoe down thigh slapping drunken stomp, funky and slide guitars, the odd brass stab here and there, throw in a bit of organ with some chunky pianos, add some guy laughing and we are good to go. b1 gets going with a funky disco cosmic groover with some wicked wah wah guitar, strings, effects, cool synths and tight drums, all bound to get them moving on the dance floor. b2 groove is so infectious with some sweet harmonica solos, tight bass and soaring strings that lifts this track and the crowd to cloud

ltd warehouse found... the joubert singers – stand on the word remixes available 12inch, including larry levan mix and exclusive reworks by patchworks, panoptikum arkestra & walter mecca. originally recorded live in the first baptist church in crown heights, nyc, in 1982 under celestial choir and pressed only for the congregation, it was then enlighted by walter gibbons (owner of jus born studios and a new born christian at the time of the recording), who acquired a copy and played it out at the 7th av. rock and soul shop, where he worked. >stand on the word< was walters biggest record at the time, says colin gate, who visited the church in order to track down the origins of the song.

the phantom is older than you think, both figuratively and literally. his debut on vinyl was on *it s my mike* by the funky force 2 back in 1987 on amanda records. in 1988 he recorded as part of the group the force and recorded *the mission* with the producer powercut. he is probably best known for being one of the main mcs in cult group dynametrix, who released an ep in 1991 and an lp in 1994 called *a measure of force* on kold sweat records. he also appeared on three tracks on the unsung heroes lp *unleashed* as well as appearing with tom dice on *thug killer*.

fernandos solo work, as day outside, was recently comped by bill brewster, and right now he has simultaneous releases on leng, cynic and international feel. hes also in silver city with julian sanza exclusive japan import.

two sides from our favorite early 80s lover lew kirton. its the first time the sexy soul mans two track have been 45! both solid tried and tested lp tracks, but who wants to spin lps. 15 years of doing a club every week and you end up with some secret weapons, *something special* was always a big tempo change record. everyone is tired from dancing for two hours to fast disco, modern and deepfunk and without warning you just drop this badboy in take it down a notch and let the dry riding commence, solid. on the flip is lews straight up jack of gloria gaynors *i will survive*, pure shameless anthemic dancefloor disco smasher that i have championed for years, that catchy guitar line over lews big voice never tires.

at the tail end of the 90s, gregory darsa played around with a number of pseudonyms before finally settling on his now familiar dj gregory alias. one of those abandoned aliases was headcore. it was used for a single ep back in 1998, released on chateau flight s label, versatile (then in it s infancy). here, that ep gets a welcome reissue. it s aged rather well, with all four tracks - explorations of deep house themes with occasional nods to the dubby, african-influenced style darsa would later explore on the africanism project - sounding as fresh now as they did 16 years ago. picking highlights is tricky, but we re particularly enjoyed the sparse, swinging dub-house of -cage- (accompanied with a tasty drum dub) and the chez damier-influenced chug of -in & out

the first release of the new year for delsin records will be the new album from vril. vril debuted on the delsin-label with his excellent vortekz ep early in 2014, which came after releases on his family-label giegling and also semantica in previous years, and was followed up by the torus lp, a double 12inch on giegling affiliate forum. now hes back with his second full length. one day vril sat down in his station and suddenly a portal opened. thru a kind of timehole infinitive moments passed by. luckily he was able to capture a few of those to share with us. the portal closed. nothing was left, no questions. only this lp.

before dj gregory was point g. point g is an alias used by the french produced to explore a gritty, raw sound steeped in abstract vibes but with a very basic approach, which makes it all the more captivating making a strong impact on the underground scene in the 90s, point g gained much respect amongst his peers with timeless releases like the raw ep, on the raw again ep…. originals vinyl copies of many of point gs early tracks are notoriously hard to find, giving this comeback even more kudos.

2015 repress ! passionate advocates of vinyl, apollonia re-press point gs rare classic underwater, the first in a number of their personal out-of-stock favourites. the archetypal track of the paris afterhours that encapsulates the sound of the batofar kwality parties, a memory which is at the very core and stimulus of apollonia... underwater was a favourite of the trio back in 1998 and continues to be a record bag must-have in 2013. moody, bassy, a freaky lose-yourself-moment in the spaced-out melody, this deep house classic is being re-pressed for the first time exclusively on apollonia. a production project of dj gregory, the point g imprint created in the mid 90s offered a dark, raw interpretation of us deep house, given his alternative french twist. making a strong impact on the underground scene at the time, point g gained much respect amongst his peers with timeless releases like the raw and on the raw again eps, hence original copies of many of his early tracks are extremely scarce

samuel l. session, a techno producer from sweden who founded the labels sls and cycle and now runs the klap klap imprint. apart from that, he has released on drumcode, soma, music man and kms records. in 2007, samuel l session was featured on kms 091 - kevin saunderson’s release – “history elevate 2” with a remix for “pump the move”. now in 2015, samuel l session presents his second artist release on kms records with “the talkbox ep” the talk box ep kicks of with an “original mix” that is a dark, deep & groovy. detroit inspired techno pumper that features a deep bass line with haunting chords. move on next to the “concrete mix” which provides a bit more airy feel. on the b side the soulful groove b1 “birth of blue” featuring elbee bad providing whispering melodic vocal sprinkled on top an ever moving progression that even includes some great horn stabs. rounding out the ep is the b2 “birth of blue” featuring elbee bad & andreas saag, providing a groovy solo-esc piano, riffing throughout this already groovy number

cve live 2011 is a live recording of the caribou vibration ensemble which came together and toured in 2011. the ensemble included four tet, james holden, ahmed gallab of sinkane and the quartet of horn players who recorded on *swim*: kyle brenders, colin fisher, rob piilonen and steve ward, and the four members of caribous regular touring band. these three tracks document the live energy of the shows, that was as electric for the band as it was for the audience. this release is dedicated to the memory of the sound engineer for caribou, julia brightly, with all proceeds going to genderedintelligence.co.uk. comes with big fold-out poster.

bucharests own khidja have been an active part in the local nightclub scene over the past years. after first appearing as co-compilers of the romanian jazz lp for sonar kollektiv, it was finally a remix for baris k on emotional especial in late 2013 which put the duo on the want list of many tasteful djs around the world. the time was just perfect to appear with oriental soundscapes having been the most sought-after spice in dance music during that summer period

we are honoured to present the milan-based duo carol consisting of damian and fedex. fedex has been collecting records and dj-ing since the age of 15 when the italian club and rave scene was about to explode. after many years of dj-ing and producing music in italy and germany he found his home in milan by joining the cockette party crew where he expressed his musical versatility and love for dancefloor shaking. damian started out in londons late 90s electroclash scene with the cult electro band damian and the puzzy france and later on approached techno and house as a promoter and dj.

in about 2003 i did some work for deepfunk and northern soul legend keb darge and as was the way back then i received payment in vinyl. included in the pile was this little detroit number which i instantly fell in love with. in 1980 david mcmurray and adell shavers and david mcmurray (who went on to be a member of 80s hit band was not was) wrote and produced this amazing detroit modern / boogie 45 which for some reason suffered the same fate of many of aotn releases and disappeared from history. but thanks to the generation of collectors before me this gem sat safely in northern collection such as kebs for years waiting for its day in the sun. it only got limited play but recently the record has had a resurgence in popularity and value which it deserves. after a tip off from jason stirland (soulstax records) i found david mcmurray and it was wonderful to find he was keen to help me bring this wonderful 45 back into the limelight. so here we are…

this 12inch is a best of his metaphor recorded material, which was released on r & s records in 1995. again four tracks have been selected, three dancefloor tracks, incl the classic >soulman< and one deeper cut >sympathy<. another slice of essential techno history on 12inch (and remastered by dexter) for the first time.

alex font repeats in oblack- only like the best and he does it showing the most acidic and clubby version of that the real house that permeates their sound from start to finish. this acid flow is the fifteenth reference of the pastorial label commanded by snna and nacho arauz- from ibiza the valencian alex font presents us with an original passage of festive house, trotter and no-friend of the depressions where the legendary sound of the roland tb-303 is the pacesetter, disguises the soul and adds foundation to the track. and, since it breaks the acidic sound through antonomasia, this acid flow, shows his playful and fun side. this is a bright and optimistic theme, designed and checked to make us dance with a smile on our face, no doubt. a bare-chested tribute to those early 90s when electronics was all about joy and effervescence.

for a brief moment turin was italys sheffield, producing an astonishing number of diy electronic groups. in the context of a wider europe, italy has never been thought of as a hotbed of minimal electronic music, but mannequin records compilations danza meccanica: italian synth wave 1982-1987 have shone a light on a scene little heard, even within italys borders. but the history was still incomplete ... some new horizons now must be unveiled, showing that between the years of 1982 and 1984, the city of turin in northwest italy was home to a quiet underground renaissance of experimental electronic music.
